The taiwanese company HTC has introduced the successor of the One M9 and it has an important change on its name. The ‘One’ and the ‘M’ have been dropped. So, meet the HTC 10! The reasons for this substitution are two. The first reason is that HTC has spent 10 years making smartphones. The second one is because “the 10 means perfection”.
The users can appreciated the new design at a glance. The dual front facing speakers are gone, with one forward pointing tweeter located in the earpiece, while a bass speaker is located on the base of the handset. The frontal face looks modern and fresh (even it reminds us to the Galaxy S7). All its body has been made of metal and it has a chamfered edges on the rear that gives a force sensation.
Display and other features
The display has a QHD resolution across 5.2 inches. Also it has a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot allowing you to build on that with cards up to 2TB in size. Below of the screen the HTC 10 has a fingerprint reader and a USB-C port. HTC 10 has a 3000 mAh battery.
The HTC 10 has a rear facing 12MP camera as other brands of smartphones with very similar features, but its ultrapixel technology with f/1.8 makes the difference. This helps draw in more light, and there’s optical image stabilization (OIS) in action too improving low light shots and keeping things steady and blur free.
There’s new stuff round the front too, with a 5MP UltraSelfie camera the first in the world to sport OIS, for better low light selfies, and steadier, smoother video.
Sound & Software
If you want to listen to music without headphones, the new HTC 10 won’t let you down with its new famous BoomSound speakers: two of them are located at the bottom with woofer and Dolby support plus a tweeter on the top of the phone itself.
The HTC 10 runs the latest version of Google’s mobile platform Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it includes HTC Sense 8.
Price and availability
The HTC 10 will have a price of $ 699 USD and 799 euros (imagine that is the version of 64GB), HTC curiously does not specify. The phone will be available in charcoal gray colors, silver and gold.
